Trout River Log Cabin

Welcome to Trout River Log Cabin, a rustic 19th century Norwegian-built log house nestled in the rolling hills of Northeast Iowa, just seven miles from downtown Decorah, or three from TG Brewing. The cabin is open seasonally from April to October. Our family farm with its many acres of perennial grass fields, timber, and meandering Trout River is absolutely gorgeous. And while you're at it be sure to check out our other overnight stay, Decorah House, located five blocks from downtown Decorah.

Welcome to our neck of the woods. Right across the road from Spook Cave sits a nice peaceful cabin with spacious outdoor area. Enjoy a nice fire or simply relax underneath the covered porch with a beautiful pond view. We are located near a train track so don’t be alarmed if one goes by. The cabin is on a 3 acre pond with good fishing and a sand beach, boats and kayaks are available for use. There is also a covered shelter with picnic tables and an extra bathroom and shower, all in the shelter . A secluded area - 1/4 mile private driveway. New in 2016.
