Updating was completed in 2019 to include the Buffalo Lodge, The Buffalo Saloon and Casino and The Buffalo Grill. Our lodge boasts 9 comfortable rooms and is available for large gatherings. The Grill serves lunch and dinner. In addition to a full bar, the Saloon hosts weekly events such as live music and bingo.

Enjoy $50 to our restaurant and cocktail bar downstairs! This is one of 7 rooms in the historic boutique hotel. Built in 1908, the room has unique character. Room 7 is our only room offering a clawfoot bathtub (NO SHOWER). This stay will bring you back in time while still having a clean and thoughtful design to the room.

Eight Mile Room

The Historic Northern Hotel is the oldest hotel in Northern Idaho. Located on Priest Lake in the town of Coolin, the two-story log hotel was built in 1900 by Walt Williams, an employee of the Great Northern Railroad. One of the lodges created to attract more passengers to the rail line, the Historic Northern Hotel is the only one that remains from the early days of Idaho statehood when mining, timber, and tourism businesses were beginning to develop around Priest Lake.
