The Griffin is a functioning riverboat, driven by paddle wheels, originally modeled after historic Mississippi steamboats. It is located at a mom and pop boat yard, which is quite different from a fancy marina. Work happens here. Metal is welded here. Engines are torn apart and put back together here. Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. Directly on the Pincushion Trail System (which links to the Superior Hiking Trail) you'll find endless hiking options right outside your door. The Lena dome is 5 minutes from downtown Grand Marais where you can eat at amazing restaurants, hear great live music, enjoy time by Lake Superior, and explore beautifully curated local shops. Lena has electricity, but no heat or cooking supplies, so plan for an elevated camping experience. READ BELOW

Riverwood Hideaway

This off-grid, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. The cabin itself is loaded with comfort. A full kitchen, propane refrigerator, solar powered lights and a gas fireplace/furnace offer the conveniences of home. There is an outhouse and firewood for the outdoor firepit. You will have to bring your own water for drinking, but we provide hand and dish washing water at the sink. We have coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices.

The Järvi cabin is one of the brand new cabins on the lake at Stay Boreal between Lutsen and Tofte. Featuring full frontal glass overlooking the lake, heated floors, a patio space with a gas firebowl, free level 2 EV charging and even a treehouse sauna. We can't wait to share it with you! This cabin comfortably suits two with a capacity of up to four (1 king bed and 1 murphy style queen bed). It has a smaller, cozy layout.
