The perfect spot to indulge and watch the sunset, and fall asleep listening to the waves! 🌊🏄‍♀️ Head towards town with a 5min drive to Wainui Beach and shop, a further 10-minutes to Gisborne. Or head up highway 35 to explore the East Coast, with Tatapouri over the hill and 10min to Puawa marine reserve. Beach is safe & peaceful for swimming and surfing for all abilities.

The Garden Room

Cozy cabin set amongst coastal forest, nestled amongst the trees overlooking the beautiful garden and Wainui beach. Wake to the rising sun and songs of the birds. It is ONE LARGE ROOM with separate bathroom and a small kitchenette and wrap around deck area. Super king bed can be used as x2 singles. Pull out king single couch bed plus roller bed for a 4th person. Please let me know at time of booking as to bed configuration. NB there are steps down to the accomodation, so heavy bags are not ideal

Wainui Beachfront - 3 Bedroom House

Wainui Beachfront Home is located on Moana Road right across from the beach. It is a 10min Drive from the City and only 1km away from the Okitu Store. The House has three bedrooms (2 King Beds & 1 Double Bed), One Bathroom and 2 Toilets. The Kitchen/Dining/Living area is open plan and offers a lot of space. There is a deck out front with a lounge area to capture the Sea view & sunrise. Its the perfect location to relax and enjoy one of the best beaches NZ has to offer. *Please read other notes

Wheatstone Studio

Our modern, architecturally designed detached studio is the perfect accommodation for couples or individuals looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Situated on a hectare block with a relaxing rural outlook our house is walking distance (1500m) to Wainui Beach and a short (5 min) drive to Gisborne city. The perfect location! Our studio mixes a luxurious but informal bach aesthetic it’s the ideal place to unwind, relax and enjoy Gisborne. BBQ and surfboard available on request.

Forget your worries in this spacious and serene space. Absolute beach front home with breath taking views of Wainui Beach with your own beach access. Gisborne's famous Stock Route /Cooper St surf break just a few steps away. Morning coffee in our local cafe with a local beer brewery in walking distance too. Our home offers an ideal holiday spot to unwind and relax with all the amenities you would need on your holiday. Walk beautiful Wainui beach, cosy up by the fire it's heaven!

Magnolia Cottage

Enjoy the quiet area. Listen to all the native birds, swim in the pool, take a walk in our lovely area, or simply relax in the spacious cottage with a drink. Inside, go up the spiral stairs to the cozy mezzanine bedroom (please note that it's low up there). The unique stairs are from the old star observatory on Titirangi (the local maunga/mountain)! The sofa bed in the lounge can sleep 2. There is no kitchen, but there is a kitchenette with microwave, toaster and kettle.

That persimmon place

Here in the far east are the first in the world to see the light of day. Known for our laid-back surf culture, superior Chardonnay and aromatic wines, fertile soils and abundance of local produce. This modern retreat offers the perfect balance of rural peace and coastal convenience, with stunning views of the surrounding hills and our very own persimmon orchard. A 7min (6.3km) drive to town beaches, a 6min (4.4km) drive to town and a 10min (6.3km) drive to the air port.

Self contained and spacious for a relaxing holiday experience. - Cabin is set up for 2 people, but accommodates up to 3 (extra linen fee applies) - Cosy queen bed with sea view - Folded couch - Plush, quality linen, duvet, pillows, and towels - Private Bathroom - Kitchen with 2 hob gas burner and microwave. - Includes fridge, cutlery, crockery, glassware and tea and coffee -facilities - Dogs are not allowed.

Pōhatu Studio, A retreat by the River

Pōhatu, meaning stone in Maori, is a beautiful 1925 Arts & Crafts house built by one of regions wealthiest landowners. Lovingly restored in 2020, the guest room is self contained and absorbs the morning sun. Pohatu is located beside the Waimata River, on a 3000m2 section surrounded by mature trees and gardens which afford privacy for sitting outside with your favourite beverage. The property is a short walk to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants.
