The Pearl of Whakatiwai. A completely restored Bed/kitchen/dining room with separate shower and toilet. This house was built in the 50's and so we have lovingly recreated the whole 50's vibe for your enjoyment. Right on the edge of the Firth of Thames you can lie in bed and see the views that go on forever. A great little kitchen with new oven and fridge, plus all the tools you need if you want a "foodie" get away. We do not have a TV, but great WiFi. Great fishing right on your doorstep.

Welcome to our private romantic getaway at Hereford Cottage. Located in Whakatiwai, north of Kaiaua with a backdrop of the Hunua ranges. We absolutely love living here and thought we would like to share one of our favourite places with others. We offer a beautiful one-bedroom cottage with a lovely outdoor wood fire tub and a romantic little area with a firepit, nestled in a natural setting with views of a stream, native bush and native birds. Enjoy a night or a couple of nights here with us.

A beautiful cottage set apart from Homestead in park like, private, rural setting on dry stock block. Easy access to cycle trails, Kauaeranga valley bush walks (The Pinnacles) & fishing spots. We are perfectly situated for easy day trips to Hot water beach or Cathedral cove & many other Coromandel beaches. We are 5 mins drive to Thames town, cafes & restaurants. Come relax & unwind & recharge your batteries. We are 1 hour 20 mins from Auckland international Airport. Sorry no late check-out.

We may have flexibility with check in and check out times, just check with us the availability. 45 minutes from Auckland Airport and CBD, and 3–6 minutes’ drive to Hunua Falls, Kokako Lodge Camp, Hunua Falls Camp, and YMCA Camp Adair. Karearea Cottage is on 4 acres with a horse/donkey next to the cottage. We are central to the Waikato, minutes from the Waikato Expressway/SH1 - approx. an hours drive to Auckland, west coast surfing/fishing beaches like Raglan, 90 mins to east coast Coromandel's world renowned beautiful beaches, a short drive to Hakarimata bushwalks with 800 year old Kauri, Golf Course, Hot Pools, Huntly Speedway, 20 minutes to Hamilton, Hampton Downs Raceway, and lovely cafe's a short drive.

The Bus Depot is a rustic retreat overlooking the beautiful firth of Thames. A beautifully restored 1979 Bedford bus which has all the modern comforts but still retains original features of the bus, this area has sleeping for two along with kitchen area, fridge, gas stove and a dining area on the covered deck. From the daybed to the loft space or going for a walk on the farm or just sitting in front of the fire you can enjoy the views at this outstanding location.

A quiet stopover spot for travelers or those working or visiting the area. Great for Hampton Downs. Safe parking and turning for cars and trailers.
