We've dubbed this stunning, newly constructed detached studio the "Lighthouse" because of the way natural light pours through the 550-square-foot studio's many windows and dances off its walls and vaulted ceilings. An open loft offers soothing views. We are tucked into the Westmoreland neighborhood's quiet residential area, but are only a five minute walk from more than 20 restaurants and entertainment features. Westmoreland Park, Reed College and downtown Portland are just minutes away by car.

It is close to public transport (near a MAX light rail station), the airport and outdoor activities (the Columbia Gorge; Mt Hood) and is a 20-30 min drive to downtown. It's cozy (eclectic vintage style), a wooded 1-acre setting within the city limits, and has secure premises (electric gate). Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. The front gate opens into a private, landscaped courtyard landscaped with jasmine, a Japanese maple tree, rhododendrons, and ferns. We are conveniently located near Mt Tabor Park that has walking trails and a spectacular view of the city. We are also close to several popular neighborhoods with shops, cafés, and restaurants. We welcome people of all backgrounds to stay here and enjoy beautiful Portland.

Our tiny home started life as a commuter bus in Manchester, England, in 1953, then did stints in San Francisco and Mt. St. Helens before finding a home as the Grilled Cheese Grill in Portland. Now it’s been reimagined as a mid century modern-inspired tiny home, with whimsical painting details from one of its former lives and fresh new handmade details that make it a cozy, inspiring stay.
