Your room is part of a historic lodge nestled lakeside in nature with fantastic views. Our stunning area has many activities to offer including various hikes, jet boat trips, scenic flights, kayaking, horse treks, ziplining and more. To relax there's a TV room, book exchange and hot tub, especially good for stargazing! If you don't feel like cooking up a feast take a break and dine in our cozy restaurant, we have something for everyone. Please note that we're a 5hr drive from Milford Sound.

Lakes Edge Backpackers - Bed in shared 6 bed dorm

Stay in a comfortable bed within a shared 6-bed dorm at Lakes Edge Lodge, set right on the shores of Lake Tekapo. Perfect for solo travellers looking for a relaxed, social stay with incredible lake and mountain views. Each guest books a single bed, with access to shared bathroom, kitchen, and lounge facilities. Tekapo Village is just a 10-minute walk (or 1-minute drive), with cafés, restaurants, and local attractions nearby. Free pick-up is available from the 12:05pm Intercity bus on request.

Mackenzie Motels Backpackers Accommodation

This is not an ensuite room. 2 single beds, satellite/smart tv, kitchenette. Park in front of your door. Private exterior door, internal locks. Very clean, comfortable beds with professional laundered linens. Outside toilet and shower block with 2 toilets & 2 showers, each with lockable doors for secured privacy. Not much soundproofing in the rooms so you may hear your neighbor. But you save hundreds of dollars vs prices in Tekapo. Great value if you don't mind the limitations of the room.

Set on a residential hillside with views of the surrounding mountains, this relaxed hostel is a 4-minute walk from the shops and eateries of the town centre, and an 11-minute walk from Skyline Queenstown gondola and luge. Private rooms add flat-screen TVs. There's also an apartment with a kitchen, and a private balcony offering mountain views. There's limited complimentary parking. Other amenities include 2 communal kitchens, an informal lounge, a drying room and a terrace.
