Just sit and enjoy the sounds of the babbling brook while you relax by the fire pit or take a hike on our private trail. With deep woods views and changing leaf color this is truly a treasure. Pet friendly with a $35 fee. AT hikers are welcome with free local pick up and drop off with booking. Come enjoy!

Our Watauga Lake front home is a perfect vacation getaway, located at the end of a point, the large deep water dock is ideal for year round boating and water sports. Conveniently located, we are within the quaint town of Butler and close to restaurants, small country stores and Cove Ridge Marina. Although Watauga Lake is our main attraction, we are near a number of waterfalls, hiking trails, mountain biking trails and the shopping areas surrounding the Tri-Cities and Boone, NC.

Enjoy our cozy cabin with hiking, fishing, and relaxing in rural North Carolina. The Appalachian Trail just 2 miles away. Elk River Falls is an easy hike. A full kitchen invites you to cook. Roast s'mores on the fire pit. Dine on the porch or enjoy the patter of rain on the roof, or snow in the winter. Play movies on the blue ray/DVD. Free electric vehicle charging. Cabin is four miles from Elk Park (pop. 800), a truly remote getaway. Privacy and intimacy guaranteed!

A scenic path is just steps from the front door and leads to Watauga Lake, with deeded lake access. Public boat launch is one mile from the cabin. Two spacious bedrooms with walk-in closets. A multi-purpose room serves as a third bedroom or game-room. Fully equipped kitchen with everything necessary for meal preparation.

Sunbear Cabin - Cycling/Hiking/Flyfishing

Surrounded on three sides by the Pisgah National Forest with a long-range mountain view from the deck, adventure awaits right outside the door. Sunbear also has high-speed internet for remote work and a backup generator. Cooler months offer backcountry hiking along creeks chocked with waterfalls off the eastern flank of the cabin. Summer features wildlife, Fireflies, and a nice quiet place to escape the summer heat.
