After a day exploring everything Ayrshire has to offer (be it history, culture, walking, seaside or golf) settle down in front of your roaring log burner or enjoy a drink on the private deck. Watch as the sun sets over the hill in front of you. Then, above you on a clear night, the Milky Way and a myriad of constellations appear. Truly rested, fall asleep in comfort & silence.

Leac Na Sith, a cottage on the beach

Our cottage is perfect for families, couples or friends who want a peaceful base to explore glorious Argyll. This is a truly magical place, with incredible sea views, and a large garden that leads straight on to the shore. It's also a great base for exploring the Isle of Bute, the "Secret Argyll Coast", and the Arrochar Alps. After a big day out, you can come back and relax in front of the log burner. Leac Na Sith means "Hearthstone of Tranquility"... it could not be a more appropriate name.

A peaceful seaside haven from where to explore Ayrshire and the Clyde coast. Located one street over from the beach and 2 minutes walk to Royal Troon Golf Club. The Marine, Piersland and South Beach hotels are all within a 5 minute walk. A 15 minute walk to shops, restaurants, bars, cafes & train station. Ideal for a couple, family or golf party. Pets welcome.

Doonbank Cottage Bothy

Whether you're looking for a one night business stopover, a couple of nights to attend a wedding at the Brig O'Doon, or a self catering holiday break, Doonbank Cottage's Bothy offers an exclusive, flexible & private accommodation. The Bothy is a beautifully presented & spacious, one bed detached house. Set in 4 acres of woodland on the banks of the River Doon & forming part of Doonbank Cottage's woodland garden, it is a very peaceful and quiet location. One (medium sized) dog allowed.

Bedroom 3 is open plan with stairs leading down to the living area please see photos), sleeps 5, private parking, unlimited Wi-Fi, log burner, oil central heating, sea and castle views. Mary Queen of Scot's chamber at Neidpath Castle is perhaps the most romantic place to stay in the Scottish Borders. Explore privately the whole castle and then retire to enjoy your suite rooms. The antique four poster bed, deep roll top bath and open fire evoke earlier times, but are truly comfortable and luxurious. An elegant table is set for breakfast. Peebles is 10 minutes walk away, with a host of shops and restaurants, as well as a museum and award winning chocolatier.

We are under 10 mins drive from Glen Trool, the 7 Stanes mountain bike trails, multiple wild swimming spots and renowned hiking routes.

Carrick Lodge is one of two lodges within the private grounds of our larger property, The Old Church. Set in a semi-rural location, it is a private and exceptionally comfortable space featuring a lovely private, secluded and sheltered covered decking area with wood burning stove, allowing you to enjoy nature all year round. The local grocery shop is less than a 5 minute walk, with many restaurants and outdoor attractions only a short drive.

You will be surrounded on all sides by fields, woods or mountains but yet be close enough to pop out for a coffee and cake at the local village or taste a wee dram at the Glengoyne whisky distillery.
