One mile off the popular NC500 tourist route, our two pods and a Shepherd's Hut offer peace and quiet in an idyllic location with some amazing sunrises, sunsets and starry skies.

The Hide - off-grid-ish woodland cabin near NC500

The Hide is a super get-away for anyone travelling around Scotland on the NC500 or on your own adventure looking for a unique stay. Almost off-grid, it has a comfy bed, central woodburner and spectacular view. It's the perfect stepping stone towards the full off-grid experience, intended for people who are curious about living the off-grid lifestyle but also like to be able to charge their phone, boil a kettle and have a hot shower! The recently refurbished and modernised Ethel's Cottage is in an idyllic location, flanked by two rivers. This gate lodge cottage offers the perfect place to stay for a few nights or longer! Easily accessed from the A9 (on the NC500 route) and just a two-minute walk from a secluded beach and estuary with lots of short walks from the front door and plenty longer ones in the vicinity. A cosy and fully insulated cabin. Breathtaking and inspiring sea views across the Moray Firth and Dunbeath Harbour. We make and deliver freshly made pizzas and licenced drinks to your cabin. With The cabin comes complete with an en-suite shower room and kitchenette. Quality towels and bedding, Smart TV and WIFI are provided. This cabin has a double bed, French doors onto a gravelled private area with patio furniture perfect for enjoying a drink, the views and sea air.

Cute tiny shepherd's hut near to the village

Our quirky, cute shepherd's hut sits in a semi-wild orchard next to our house, and near to an historic mill. It is ideal for one or two people and comes equipped with a comfortable double bed, a folding table, a small kitchen area with a microwave, kettle and toaster and a tiny private bathroom, with a hot shower. Outside, the decking provides a space to relax. The BBQ provides an option for dinner. Drinking water is from a tap on the side of the hut.

BERRISCUE HOUSE - ENTIRE COTTAGE - THURSO

Berriscue House is a beautiful, bespoke cottage - located in the centre of Thurso, hidden away from the world with a large walled garden and private entrance. Five minute walk from the beach. Everything you need for a cosy Scottish retreat! If booking the same day after 6pm please message as it may still be possible to book. If you require the extra bed in the living room, you must tell us in your initial message so we know to prepare this for you.

A unique and beautiful Shepherd's Hut on the Black Isle. Specifically commissioned by Black Isle Brewery, the hut is in the middle of our organic brewery farm. The brewery sits on one side with organic farmland, farmhouse and vegetable patch on the other. You are 10 minutes from Inverness by car and 20 minutes from Inverness airport. Please note that the hut doesn't have wifi but we have books and games to keep you
