The DRUM at Dunmore is a stunning elliptical house with a sloping roof and high ceilings, clad in charred larch with orange window frames and painted wooden floors. Designed by architect Roderick James and built by a crack team of smashing local chaps, the Drum is a perfect bolt hole for two. It has a wood burning stove and a big squashy velvet sofa, floor to ceiling triple glazed windows and is nestled in woodland on a small estate (complete with castle) and just moments from the sea.

The Black House, Islay

The Black House is a unique property situated between Bruichladdich and Port Charlotte on the island of Islay. We use the house for High School to save commuting from Jura every day so don’t expect a pristine holiday let but rather a loved family space. There are 2 double beds and 2 bunk bedrooms (if you’re a party of single adults then 4 is the maximum number). Views are stunning and Islay’s great for whisky, wildlife or just rest and relaxation. The Wee House is a one bedroom seafront cottage looking onto Port Ellen. Sleeping up to 4 guests with a sofa bed (full size double) in the living room. Listing price is for 2 guests sharing the bedroom. If the sofa bed is required for bookings of 2 guests please let us know as there is an extra charge (£10 per night). The cottage is within walking distance of local shops, pubs and restaurants and near to the distillery path taking you to Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg.
