Upton Hill Cottage is self-catering farm-stay accommodation 16km into the Strathbogie Ranges from Avenel. It is surrounded by vineyards, cherry orchards, farmland & replanted & remnant bush. At 475m ASL the cottage has panoramic views of the ranges & Goulburn Valley. Guests can meet the animals, ramble, birdwatch, cycle, observe native flora & fauna, fish, do scenic tours, marvel at the ancient granite formations of the unique Strathbogie batholith, & enjoy local wineries, music & restaurants.

This property sleeps 8, however there is a delux fold-out bed. This is where your dream vacation begins.

We are only 2 minutes walk to the Great Victorian Rail Trail with no major roads to cross, so its a great stop over for bike riders. We are approximately 45 minutes to the base of Mount Bulla and 5 minutes walk to Lake Eildon. 15 minute walk along rail trail or 3 minute drive gets you to the hotel that has meals every day. The apartment has a kitchenette that includes a Microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, coffee machine, hotplate, all cutlery, Airfryer crockery etc.. BBQ and Pizza.

Mountainbiking and bushwalking, right at the doorstep or explore the wider area. 2km from Lake Nillahcootie. 50min from the base of Mt Buller. Benalla and Winton Raceway are 25 and 30mins away.

This home is situated in close proximity to Eildon. The floor to ceiling windows and large deck offer majestic views of the Lake and the surrounding mountains. The house is a perfect set up for a large family or group. The home has six bedrooms, with eight beds spread over two levels with three upstairs and three downstairs. Each level is seperate to the other. Each level has its own fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher and numerous cooking utensils and equipment.

You will wake to the sound of native birds and will definitely see kangaroos and possibly goannas, lizards, wombats and the resident echidna. If you decide to venture out, Mansfield is just 10 minutes away. It has a bustling retail centre which includes many great food/dining options and a wide variety of attractions/activities.

Lake Escape

Dec 2025 - the water level has dropped significantly so the lake is currently a river, 400m from the house. This modern 2 bedroom home has a spacious covered deck, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view. Located just a few minutes from the quaint town of Jamieson where the Jamieson and Goulburn Rivers converge and just 40 minutes to the gates of Mt Buller and Stirling. Boating, kayaking, hiking, fishing, snow skiing and horse riding are available nearby.

Situated 45 minutes from the ski slopes of Mt Buller and Mt Stirling guests can easily take day trips to the snow.
