The Pod on the Hill

Situated approx.2.5 miles outside the village of Port Ellen, the POD offers peace, quiet and relaxation after exploring the distilleries and the joys of the Island. Port Ellen and Laphroaig can be seen from the POD which overlooks Kilnaughton Bay. The path to the three distilleries on this side of the Island starts in the village, taking you first to Laphroaig then Lagavulin , finishing at Ardbeg where delicious food is available. Come, find out for yourselves, a very warm welcome awaits you.

Crockets cottage

New extensively renovated beautiful home from home 3 bedroomed house in the beautiful, friendly village of Keills. Approximately 1 mile from PORT ASKAIG ferry terminal where you can also get the ferry to Jura, five minute crossing. Free parking available outside of house, back and front garden with outside seating available, swing park and playing field’s on doorstep. There are 3 Distillery’s nearby Bunnahabhain, Coal Ilà and Ardnahoe with a further six distillery’s throughout the Island.

The Shepherd's Hut

Our off grid Shepherds Hut sleeps 2 and is ideal for one or two night stays on Jura that are low key, low maintenance stays. It's glamping rather than a serviced stay. If you've missed the ferry or you've been washed out of your tent then our Shepherd's Hut would be perfect for you. It has a chemical-loo and a small wood burning stove for heat. A double bed, storage, chair, picnic table, and we can provide water and a jet boil to make coffee. Please bring camping gear for cooking.

Highroad Hideaways presents our bespoke luxury holiday pod with Sauna, the Myrtle Pod Located in Glenegedale we are central to the Island so a great base to explore from and we enjoy panoramic views right across Laggan Bay from the Rhinns to the Mull of Oa Our fully equipped Pods are situated on a family run working croft, with our own fold of Highland Cows! Outside is your private patio with seating and BBQ area and Private Sauna from which you can enjoy the famous Islay sunsets!

The Wee House

The Wee House is a one bedroom seafront cottage looking onto Port Ellen. Sleeping up to 4 guests with a sofa bed (full size double) in the living room. Listing price is for 2 guests sharing the bedroom. If the sofa bed is required for bookings of 2 guests please let us know as there is an extra charge (£10 per night). The cottage is within walking distance of local shops, pubs and restaurants and near to the distillery path taking you to Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg.

Boutique Cottage for Two in Argyll

Ploughmans Cottage is located in the Village of Furnace, 7 miles from Inveraray, in Argyll. The cottage was built around 1890 to house the Ploughman for Goatfield Farm, and has been extensively remodelled to create a unique getaway. Offering a large double bedroom, lounge and open plan kitchen diner, and stunning bathroom with Victorian roll top bath. The views across Loch Fyne from the private terrace are stunning. Taigh na Dhot

Ideal for couples or family with 2 children. Very comfortably furnished and well equipped flat. A home from home. Taigh na Dhot is within easy travelling distance to distilleries at the north end of the Island. A 10 minute drive to the ferry terminal at Port Askaig. Craigard cafe is in the village and a short walk away is the award winning whisky bar at Ballygrant Inn which has excellent food reviews also. The main township of Bowmore is a 15 minute drive away.

Persabus Millhouse, Port Askaig

Persabus is the gateway to the north Islay distilleries. Based within walking distance of Ardnahoe Distillery, Caol ila Distillery ad Bunnahabhain Distillery. It is also close to the bus stop where you can get a bus to the south Islay distilleries of Ardbeg, Lagavullin and Laphroaig. The Millhouse is a traditional farm steading converted into a comfortable cottage situated on a working hill farm, offering self catering or bed and breakfast accommodation

Dunans Cottage

Dunans Cottage is situated in the beautiful Knapdale Forest 1.9 miles from Cairnbaan within a National Scenic Area. The views are fantastic! The Cottage is off the beaten track but within a traditional farming hamlet with access via a forestry track ( see illustrated map ). Many outdoor and indoor activities are available within the area but the peace and quiet at Dunans are unique.
