My house has been described as light and cosy. It is filled with books, art and interesting things - a home from home, not the usual holiday let. Nestled within the South Downs National Park this medieval village has independent and quirky shops, with lots of choices of where to eat & drink. Fabulous walks incl. the Downs, riverside, and nearby the sea, forest & vineyard. In the winter there is a log burner, in the summer a sunny walled garden. A permit is available for parking close by.

Set the in the village of South Heighton, just 2 minutes from the A26 Lewes road, and a 5 minute drive from the port of Newhaven and the local train station, with direct trains to London. Step out the back door and you are on the South Downs, with an amazing selection of stunning footpaths to choose from. The perfect home base for hikers and dog walkers.

Beautiful barn on the South Downs Way

Beautiful barn, perfect for walkers, also great as a comfortable and spacious base for exploring the local countryside. Local cultural attractions include Glyndebourne, Drusilla's Park, South Downs Way. This spacious artist's home is located right on the South Downs Way, and it is only about an hour and a half walk to the coast at Exceat. There is a tree house for kids, a couple of swing seats for chilling out on, and the Cuckmere runs through the bottom of the garden.

Shepherd’s Cottage is tucked below the slopes of the South Downs at Firle Beacon in a remote spot on an ancient Byway between Firle and Alfriston. It is a special place to enjoy the views, walks and culture of this part of the South Downs on the Firle Estate, former home and retreat of the colourful Bloomsbury Group. The cottage has been carefully restored to capture the unique history, character and beauty of the location and immerse you in this unique landscape.

The Haven

The Haven is a bright and spacious Annex which overlooks Peacehaven Beach. The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. The master bedroom has a double bed and the lounge has a brand new futon which opens out into another double bed. Peacehaven has all the shops you need within 2 minute walking distance. Brighton City Centre is a 15 minute bus or car journey. Your hosts, Tony and Chrissy are very welcoming and caring.

Historic cottage near Lewes

Our historic flint cottage is situated on a family farm in the heart of the South Downs National Park. Located on the River Ouse, we are 5 miles South of Lewes, the county town of East Sussex. There's walking access to the South Downs Way and many other fantastic country walks. We're a short drive from Glyndebourne, Alfriston, Charleston Farmhouse and Brighton as well as many other East Sussex treasures.

The Old Parlour - Rural Location

The Old Parlour at Norton Farm is a small bungalow with wheelchair access situated in a hamlet called Norton, East Sussex. We are nicely tucked away from the busy world whilst still being close enough to the shops and seaside, which are about 2 miles away. Norton is conveniently situated for Walkers who want to explore the South Downs. We are roughly a 2 mile walk via footpaths to the South Downs Way.
