Waddle Self Catering

The Waddle is a traditional Shetland croft house, refurbished to offer a homely and comfortable stay for guests. Situated in a peaceful, quiet, remote location just over a mile from the nearby village of Walls, tucked in under the hill overlooking a sea-loch, it's a perfect place to enjoy Shetlands wildlife, scenery, peace and freedom. The Waddle is situated on an active croft. We have approximately 250 sheep with lambing in the spring, silage baling in the summer and feeding in the winter.

Your host has an extensive local knowledge of places of interest and areas to visit.

With an open plan fully equipped fitted kitchen/dining room/sitting room with wood burning stove, 3 double bedrooms and one twin bedroom, 2 with en suites, a family bathroom, library and laundry room, it is sure to feel like a home from home. Da Haaf is in a lovely central location, situated just 10 minutes drive from Lerwick.

Located on King Harald Street, the cottage is within walking distance of Lerwick town centre, near various cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops. Please be aware that there are two sets of steps to get up to the cottage (27 in total), so it may not be suitable for people with mobility issues, or prams/buggies.

There are beautiful beaches, many cafes & eateries, entertainments, museums and circular walks in Lerwick. Great central base for day trips into the countryside too.

Sound Lodge a Quiet Getaway with a Stunning View

The self-contained flat is situated at the North end of the main property, above the garage so please be aware that there is a staircase for easy access as it has its own entrance and hallway. You will have access to our own waterfront & jetty so if you have a kayak or small boat you're welcome to use the facility, the garage can be used for the drying area.

Built in 1886 by a local merchant, Rocklea overlooks a small marina in the picturesque village of Walls. This Victorian Villa has been modernised to provide a quirky and colourful holiday home away from home. Set within a mature walled garden which you are welcome to use, Rocklea is right by the sea and looks across to the island of Vaila.
