The property is in a peaceful setting but only two minutes walk away from the village pub and post office/general store. Our cottage was completely renovated in 2021 and is in a great location for walkers, cyclists, and explorers. This cottage has everything, a fully equipped kitchen, free unlimited WIFI, DVD player, in built sound system and BBQ off the decking. The bathroom has a corner bath with large separate walk in shower.

The Pigsty was part of Haxby Road Farm buildings which were renovated in 2022 / 2023 to create a rustic holiday cottage. The cottage is; 2 .5 miles to York city center, close to bridle paths and footpaths (200m). There is a bus stop approx 400m from the cottage which goes directly to York. Walking distance to pubs, restaurants and shops. 5 minutes drive to 2 cinemas, leisure parks and retail units. This is the perfect location to explore York, the local area or enjoy a night out.

Set at the top of the village green with views of Sheriff Hutton Castle, our cottage is a luxurious rural retreat, furnished by an interior designer. The village has historic Richard III connections, and is ideally situated to explore York, Castle Howard, the North York Moors or the Yorkshire coast. There is a shop/Post Office, and walking routes right outside the door. There are two pubs, The Castle at the foot of the Green, and The Highwayman, which serves good pub grub.
