My trip was canceled because apparently there is a 3-person minimum. Not imposed by Airbnb, but the host. I was told by the organizer that she would request a refund and I didn’t get one, so I had to follow up with guest services to ask for one. None of this felt good or fair.

Amanda led a wonderful history and architecture tour on a sunny fall morning in downtown Wilmington. Drawing on her history degree, historic preservation experience, and local knowledge, she skillfully and entertainingly shared stories from colonial times to present. She also considered multiple influences, including geography, economics, and socio-cultural dynamics.

The tour group size was manageable and easy-to-find. A must for learning more about Wilmington!

We enjoyed a FANTASTIC tour with our guide, Art! He was knowledgeable, funny, and an absolute pleasure to spend the morning with. Art taught us so much about Wilmington and really brought the history of the city to life. We highly recommend Art’s tour to all visitors and even to locals wanting to learn more about Wilmington and what a significant role it played in US history. FIVE STARS all around!

Amanda brought Wilmington's history to life with stories built around each building on the tour. She explained how this building came to be here and how it came to look the way it does. The people in Amanda's stories ranged from railroad barons to enslaved people. She talked about Wilmington's dark past and the struggles to rebuild/redefine the city after each major economic shift. Amanda talked about the good times and the value that this port city brought in different periods of our nation's history. There was a lot packed into the tour even though it was not a long tour. The walking distance was easy to manage. I highly recommend this tour.
