Driving on the western coast will reveal a long drive through tired old beach towns in the dry hot part of the island, but the western half is so isolated and so far from it all that you will be graced with a vista that will make you believe you are on an unpopulated island. Worth the visit if you have the wheels.

The water is clear, the scenery is beautiful and the beach is always nearly empty.

Great beach for all day beach fun- swimming surfing BBQing, snorkeling near the rocks. lots of parking, restrooms, showers and lifeguards.

One of Oahu's largest and least-congested white sand beaches. Great for surfing, body boarding or just playing in the waves. Exercise caution, tho. Waves and rip tides can be unpredictable. Never turn your back on the ocean.
