Founded in 1985, WHAT is an acclaimed Outer Cape Cod non-profit theater and two-time winner of the prestigious Elliot Norton Award, the theater was deemed "a jewel in Massachusetts' crown" by the Boston Globe. The theater offers plays, musicals, opera, and films in a state-of-the-art facility built in 2007 in honor of Julie Harris, a five-time Tony Award winner, who lived in nearby Chatham until her death in 2013.
